- letterschd@hindustantimes.com

In the wake of the Cong ress’ worst- ever rout in the history of Indian elections, social networking sites, blogs and mobile apps were abuzz with jokes about party vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

The Congress leader was butt of every joke as people termed him as ‘Chhota Bheem’, ‘Rahul Dumbo Gandhi’ to using phrases like ‘RaGa ka raag khatam’.

On the other hand, BJP’s prime minister-inwaiting Narendra Modi was referred to as “Rajnikant”, “rajniti”, to “lion” on various blogging and social networking sites.

People also received humorous messages and pictures on Facebook and WhatsApp. While catchy one-liners were the flavour, cartoons and images also received great response.

Some posts on Facebook and Twitter were “The Congress wave coming… wave where people’s hands move to wave goodbye!”, “So far BJP hasn’t formed the govt, Sensex is touching new heights... that’s Modi magic”, ‘A great lesson for Congress”, “Common man’s woes matters, Cong failed to check price rise, corruption”, “Get ready for saffron wave”, “Kamal ka phool

khil gaya” to “TsuNaMo”. Others referred to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul saying, “Are Kejri bhaiyya, doob gayi apni naiyya”, “From Priyanka Vadra: Rahul jahan bhi ghar aa jao, maa pareshan hai”.

In another one, Rahul Gandhi is shown saying “Ache din aane wale hai.. hum nani ke ghar jane wale hai” written on an icon of lion over it.
