‘People connected with ideology of AAP, not me’

- (As told to Mohit Sharma)

Rao Inderjit Singh won by a margin of approximately 2.75 lakh votes; what went wrong? The result was dependent more on a countrywide trend and not on state-centric issues. It seems that people really wanted a change. What was the reason behind such a drastic defeat? Though elections took place amid intense communal tension, I won’t rule out personal failures. The people really connected with the ideology of our party, but they didn’t think I was the right representative.

What will be your next move? I am planning to move to Gurgaon and spend more time here and in Rewari. I have a moral responsibility towards Gurgaon and its people and would keep working towards constructive development. What will be the party’s stance in the coming state polls? We will take whatever we have learned so far and we contest on all 90 seats in Haryana. What will be your strategy for the state polls? Our stance has a lw ay s been against nepotism, hierarchical politics and obviously corruption. Have you had any positive takeaways from the Lok Sabha election? These elections have given us an exposure to the politics of Haryana and a strong volunteer base throughout the state which would help us in the upcoming elections. Any comments to Rao Inderjit Singh’s win? I congratulate Rao Inderjeet Singh for his emphatic victory and would be willing to assist him in anything that helps in the constructive and positive development of Gurgaon.
