Can the divine light shown by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, change the mindset of politicians, administrators ? For the sake of humanity . . .

- By Deepak Sharma Journalist

"Miti Dhundh Jag Chanan Hoa Mitya Andhera Chan Charya" That is "With the appearance of Guru Nanak Dev, the mist of ignorance disappeared and there was the light of righteousness, just as darkness is dispelled instantly when the sun rises and stars disappear". Guru Nanak Dev's life served as a beacon light for his age. He was a great saint and mystic. He was a prolific poet and a unique singer of God's laudation. A prophet of peace, love, truth and renaissance, he was centuries ahead of his times. His universal message is as fresh and true even today as it was in the past, In fact, he belongs to that category of great men who do not monopolize any particular sect, creed or religion but belong to complete humanity. Guru Nanak Dev is a bridge between two shores of the river of unity. Guru Nanak Dev rejected the idea of casteism in toto. Guru Nanak Dev also raised his voice for the uplift and parity of the down - trodden, low-caste elements of the human society. Guru Nanak Dev exalted the status of woman by saying : "It is from women, the condemned one, that we are conceived and it is from her that we are born. It is to the women that we are engaged and married. It is quite clear that present politicians, of any party, have forgotten the teachings of the great Guru Nanak Dev Ji and they strengthen their own personal and financial status to achieve the unlimited ambitious targets of making multi-millions and to enjoy the glamour of higher posts with proud. Surprisingly, it looks that the Guru Nanak Dev Ji has also surrendered before such type of leaders, who are indulged in crimes and enjoying the power with the glamour, and they are also giving boost to nepotism and getting political successes while crushing the basic norms of Democracy & Humanity. No doubt such leaders pay their respect to the holy shrines, but that is just a showoff that they are followers of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings. In fact they are very far away from the truth. There is also no doubt that their show-off of religious sentiments are profitable and enjoyable moments of their glamorous lives, but from the core of the heart, the results of not following teachings of Guru, teach them a lesson in shape of intolerable pain,

serious diseases, as well as personal tensions always prevailing in their minds. I hope that the Guru will certainly give a befit reply to such leaders and shall also bestow wisdom upon them for improvement of administration, removing social evils from society and dedication without any financial benefits, to serve the country in a better way like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai and all other freedom fighters and all the ten Gurus. Today, let's take a vow to live our live while remembering and implementing the teachings of the great Guru Nanak Dev Ji "Vand Chakna" (Share their earnings with others who are less fortunate) "Naam Japna" (Always remember God) "Kirat Karna" (Live a honest Life and to earn their living with honest labor) I also appeal to the contractors of today's society to have some fear of God in their minds and should follow the real teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to get spiritual relief in their livelihood. The teachings of Guru Ji and spiritual light of God can change the mindset of politicians, rulers of states and centre government, so they can serve the people and Guru's sangat with humanity and honesty. But due to Kalyug, I have no hope for such change. Rather it looks that at present the God fears from role of today's politicians and moreover they have also forgotten Sangat and they are showing fake love & prayer for God. On the other hand, for the sake of money, the politicians have made Punjab a hub of drugs, which is infact land of Gurus. Now, they have forgotten the God and they are falsely blaming each other and not nabbing the real criminal political criminals, due to their vested political interests. They only show off regarding drug de-addiction but in reality they are totally failed in stopping the inflow of drugs in this holy land of five rivers. Hence, the light of Guru's wisdom is not reaching upto common people. And we are also waiting when the light of Guru's wisdom will enlighten the mindset of money-maker politicians, administrators and rulers ?
