Renew recognition under RTE, Jalandhar DEO to private schools
JALANDHAR: The district education department has asked all private schools to renew recognition in compliance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act, which states that schools which do not conform to norms shall cease to function.
District education officer ( elementary) Jaspal Singh said as per the Punjab gover nment rules under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, every private school must get recognition from the district education officer (elementary).
The DEO informed that the recognition given to private schools under the act is valid till March 31. “After recognition of private schools was made mandatory under the Right to Education Act, all private, aided and unaided schools have to apply for renewal of recognition,” he added.
The DEO has appealed to managements of all private schools to submit self-declarations to the the Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) office at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Ladowali road.
