Doaba Group of Colleges is a leading provider of technical education, with three engineerin­g colleges, three polytechni­cs, two business schools, one college of pharmacy, one school of education, and one degree college, spread over three campuses in the state of Punjab. All DGC campuses have excellent infrastruc­ture, well equipped modern labs, welldesign­ed lecture halls, qualified faculty, and a leadership committed to the pursuit of excellence. DGC students have secured top ranks in university/ board examinatio­ns and won medals. Students of the DGC Polytechni­c College secured a remarkable six of the ten top positions, including the top three positions, in the CSE (semester 3) state level diploma examinatio­ns of the Punjab State Board of Technical Education, the merit list for which has just been released by PSBTE. DGC students have also won numerous medals in PTU inter-college sports competitio­ns. A DGC student shattered a 42 year old record in shot put at the last state level polytechni­c games. DGC students have also performed excellentl­y in cultural and co-curricular activities. DGC was selected for organising the Punjab Technical University Zonal Youth Fest in October 2014. Awards and rankings: DGC engineerin­g programmes have received extensive recognitio­n, and SiliconInd­ia has ranked DGC as the 10th best engineerin­g institute in north zone. The vice chancellor, Punjab Technical University, Dr Rajneesh Arora, and the chairman, AICTE, Dr S S Mantha, conferred the CMAI National Punjab Education Award on DGC. The internatio­nal green flag organisati­on honoured DGC with the IGFO Internatio­nal Award for environmen­tal excellence. Higher Education Review has just ranked the DGC business school as the best emerging institute of the year. Placement: A very large number of renowned companies visited DGC for placement last year and recruited our students. These include renowned corporatio­ns and multinatio­nals like IBM, Bharti-Axa, HDFC life, Just Dial, Tata group companies, Emerson Technologi­es, Spice Digital. Videocon, Swaraj, Mahindra & Mahindra, Diplast, Mitsuba Secal, DLF Pramerica, ICICI etc Internatio­nal interactio­ns: DGC students get ample opportunit­ies for interactin­g with leading experts from academia, industry and public sector - from India and abroad. Several leading profession­als from USA have visited DGC campuses, for interactio­n with students and faculty. An MoU with Wolverhamp­ton University, UK enables DGC students to pursue a part of their studies at Wolverhamp­ton. DGC has already acquired a global footprint with its alumni working or pursuing higher studies across the globe - in USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand etc. Students from several African countries study at DGC.
