General Shivdev Singh Diwan Gurbachan Singh Khalsa College Patiala functioning under the dynamic leadership of Jathedar Avtar Singh, President, SGPC, Sri Amritsar, is one of Punjab's premier Institutes of higher learning. It is a matter of a pride that the National Assessment and Accredition Council acknowledging its merit and credibility has awarded the institution 'A' Grade. Setup in the heart of the royal city of Patiala, the campus is spread across 20 acres of Urban and 20 acres of serene atmosphere at village Dhablan. The campus is home to 5200 students, more than 200 faculty and a large and efficient team of support staff. The Institute is reputed for its state of the art infrastructure, well stocked library, advanced technology labs and Science labs.

Besides running traditional programmes in Humanities, Science, Computer Science and Commerce the college has taken the initiative to introduce B.Com Accounting and Finance, B.Sc. (CSM) and takes pride in having started a unique course of its own kind- Master of Leadership Development. The college is one of the few colleges that was selected to run Community College Scheme under UGC. Two programmes are presently running successfully under this scheme - Advanced Diploma in Green House Technology and Advanced Diploma in Auto Electrical and Electronics. Both the programmes are flexible with multiple entry and exit points for benefit of students. Under skill development scheme of UGC the college was granted B.Voc. in Food Processing & Engineering and B.Voc. in Software Development. All these programme follow choice based credit system. In this regard various MOU's have been signed with Industry to give students a wide range of practical exposure. The college in recent times has proved its credibility in Academic, Sports and Cultural activities. Keeping in view the global challenges the college management has taken a visionary step in establishing Campus for Research and Advanced Studies at Dhablan. Khalsa College Patiala enjoys the benefit of MOU's signed by SGPC with major overseas academic institutions. The college benefits from the partnership and collaboration made with more than five universities from across the world. The college works in two shifts thus making maximum use of its resources. The college has a complete Wi-Fi campus, air conditioned on-line library with more than 30,000 books, Soft Skills Labs, Well-equipped Gymnasium, Computer and Science Labs and Smart Classrooms, ATM, Stationary and Photocopy Shop. The college has established Dr. Ganda Singh Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Centre with a purpose to train the students vigorously to face interviews and group discussion rounds. The center has an excellent and enviable track record of placements.
