RANA GURJEET DEFENDS AMARINDER

Rana Gurjeet Singh, Congress legislator from Kapurthala, has defended Amarinder over his cautioning the state officers and taken on Akali leader Dr Daljit Singh Cheema for his criticism of Captain. “No well-wisher of Punjab can ever think of putting a further liability of `10,000 crore on a state that is under a humungous debt of `1.25 lakh crore already,” observed Rana, in a statement issued here. “The Akali intentions are clear. Knowing that they aren’t coming back to power, they want to borrow money to pass on the liability to the next government,” he said. “Amarinder has every right to sound caution, and he has done the right thing by advising officers not to let the Akalis push Punjab into a deeper debt trap,” he added.
