Heavy rain leads to flash floods in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Incessant rain since Saturday has led to floods in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, with several temples in Ujjain being inundated, officials said on Sunday. Ujjain saw 310 mm of rain, leading to rise in the water level of Shipra and Gambhir rivers. Many temples on the banks of the Shipra were submerged up to the dome, they said. A large number of families in Ujjain were evacuated and normal life was affected in Bhopal.
