MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDERING FATHER AT SHAHKOT

JALANDHAR: The Mehatpur police have arrested a villager on charge of murdering his father. Station house officer (SHO) Rupinder Singh said the accused has been identified as Jaswinder Singh alias Sonu, a resident of Chhoti Baloki village. Sukhwinder Kaur, a resident of Jandiala village in Phillaur, complained to the police that he received a phone call on July 20 that her father Joginder Singh had died. She said when she reached at her parental house she saw an injury mark on the forehead of the body. The police said the deceased was hit on the head with a baseball bat. A case under section 302 (murder) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
