LUDHIANA GIRL RAPED BY FACEBOOK FRIEND

LUDHIANA: The police have booked a Karnal resident for allegedly raping his 22-year-old Facebook friend on July 18 after mixing some intoxicant in her soft drink.

The complainant, a resident of the Janakpuri area of Ludhiana, alleged that she met the accused, Nitesh Kumar Gupta of Chaudhary Colony, Karnal, in Haryana on Facebook and they exchanged their phone numbers.

The complainant, who works as a marketing officer in a mobile phone service providing company in Chandigarh, said the accused visited her house on July 18. When they were having juice, the accused mixed some sedative in her drink and raped her, the complainant alleged. He fled after committing the crime, she added.

The Jamalpur police have registered a case under Sections 376 (rape) and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison with intent to commit an offence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused.
