Ex-serviceman beaten to death in Sonepat village

ROHTAK: A 62-year-old ex-serviceman was allegedly beaten to death by unknown persons at Kailana village in the district on Monday night. Victim Tek Ram, a resident of MP Majra village, was working as salesman at the liquor vend in Kailana.

As per available informatio­n, some unidentifi­ed persons attacked Tek Ram when he was at the liquor shop on Monday night. After the incident, he was rushed to the BPS Government Women’s Medical College at Khanpur Kalan, where the doctors declared him brought dead. Agitated over his death, the villagers held a protest and blocked the Ganaur-Gohana road, demanding police action against the accused. DSP Satish Kumar reached the spot and assured the villagers of action against the accused, following which they lifted the blockade. He said the body had been handed over to his family after postmortem.
