FTII students seek Rahul’s intervention
NEW DELHI: Students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) have sought the intervention of Congress vicepresident Rahul Gandhi to check the “assault on institutions of higher learning”.
The FTII students are on strike demanding the removal of TV actor Gajendra Chauhan as chairman of the institute.
In a letter to Gandhi, FTII Students Association president Harishankar Nachimuthu said the appointment of Chauhan has raised questions over the process of appointments in the institute and sought his intervention to resolve the “crisis” as he had done in the issue of Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle in IIT-Madras.
