CHANDIGARH: The Kaithal police which had booked former MLA Roshan Lal Arya and around 150 others for their alleged derogatory comments against the Jat community on Monday, sent three teams to New Delhi, Gurgaon and Yamunanagar in their search on Tuesday.

Stating that Arya and other accused were likely to be arrested soon, Kaithal superintendent of police Sumit Kumar told HT that the video in which Arya was seen allegedly administering an oath to a gathering against Jats, had also been sent for forensic test to ascertain its authenticity.

The Kaithal police had registered a case on the complaint of one Shamsher Singh, a resident of Neemwala village, against the accused under Sections 153, 153-A, 153-B, 188, 505 and 506 of the IPC for allegedly provoking people with intention to cause riot, causing enmity between groups, disobedience to public servant’s order, public mischief and criminal intimidation. The complainant held that he had seen a video on social media in which Arya was administering an oath to a gathering for social boycott of Jats.

Even the Congress accused Arya for the same and the AICC general secretary and incharge Haryana affairs, Shakeel Ahmad, had played the video clip of Arya during a briefing to newspersons. He had also accused finance minister Capt Abhimanyu, Kurukshetra BJP MP Raj Kumar Saini, BJP MLA from Rewari, Randhir Kapriwas and Indian National Students’ Organisation leader Pradeep Deswal of the making provocative remarks.
