Problems remind us to wake up and get going

- PP Wangchuk

Let us understand that problems will never cease to chase us, even in the best of our times. Because, problems are the price one has to pay for all the good times in the journey of life.

Nothing comes for free. Life is a constant struggle against all kinds of odds. Only those who are willing to take on the oddities get to live and fare well in life.

That is why our sages have told us to keep in mind that happiness is all about living a good life despite being surrounded by difficulties and sorrows, and by facing them head on.

Inspirational author Steve Maraboli, in his Life, the Truth, and Being Free, says: “Happiness is not the absence of problems, it is the ability to deal with them.”

Actually, we have to admit that troubles come to make us wiser and stronger and help us in carrying out our responsibilities in life. They make us see light at the end of the tunnel, and thus living becomes a beautiful journey of hopes and aspirations.

That is why we are quite used to the saying that problems come as reminders that you have to wake up and get going.

And that propels us to grow and prosper while fulfilling our mission in life.

There will be times when we may get scared and develop a kind of unwillingness to take on life’s challenges. We often do not realise how close we are to winning before we decide to quit. That is where we miss the opportunity.

As Lao Tzu was so particular about seeing difficulties in the right perspective, we have his words of wisdom: “The difficult problems in life always start off being simple. Great affairs always start off being small.”

That means a cool, determined mind can simplify all of life’s problematic issues.
