Fadnavis action shows BJP siding with Pak artistes: Sena
MUMBAI: After terming the chief minister-brokered settlement for the smooth release of Bollywood flick Ae Dil Hain Mushkil (ADHM) as extortion, the Shiv Sena on Monday took a dig at Maharashtra BJP, saying the party was siding with Pakistani personalities.
In an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana, the Shiv Sena said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ actions showed that it was not the Congress, but the BJP that was shielding Pakistan’s personalities. “As per the chief minister’s actions, it is the BJP government with 56-inch chest and not the Congress that is siding with Pakistani personalities. Even in the case of former Pakistan minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, the state government under the guise of diplomacy literally rolled a red carpet for him,” said the Shiv Sena in its editorial.
The Shiv Sena had protested the book launch of Kasuri in Mumbai, with six of its footsoldiers even having blackened the face of the event organiser by splashing ink on his face.
While leaders are issuing threats to Pakistan sitting in Delhi, and several in Uttar Pradesh are fishing for votes capitalising on the surgical strikes, not a single one of these “patriots” have strongly said that films with Pakistani actors will not be screened in India, the editorial said.
