various schools at their own level.
“The state government has a teachers’ transfer policy that was launched about five months ago. Thus, all postings have to be made in accordance with it so that transfers are made in a transparent manner,’’ he said.
Das added that incase there is requirement for temporary deployment, the concerned field officers can submit their recommendations to the headquarter.
Furthermore, field officers have also been directed to cancel all unapproved deployments made in contravention of the transfer policy.
Apart from this, the drawing and disbursing officers at schools have been asked to ensure that salary of teachers who have been deputed to some other stations without approval of the headquarter, is not drawn.
In August 2016, a new teachers’ transfer policy was formulated in accordance of which over 10,000 PGT teachers and about 22,000 JBT teachers were transferred.
The software installed for facilitating online transfers under the new policy reportedly takes a few hours to accommodate applicants in the station of their preference.
It is done with considerations to their seniority, merit and their preferences, after comparing suitable stations.
