Sangwan faction of Jat group to begin stir from January 27

HISAR: The All India Jat Aarakshan Sanghrash Samiti (AIJASS) of Hawa Singh Sangwan’s group announced another round of stir from January 27.

The announceme­nt was made on Tuesday evening.

AIJASS Hisar district president Daljeet Panghal, while talking with mediaperso­ns, said, “We are going to start a stir from Rohtak’s HUDA ground on January 27. We have informed our district president to reach Rohtak. After addressing a meeting, we will start our stir from Rohtak and, if needed, we will intensify the stir to every district of Haryana.”

Panghal, on Tuesday, had met the Hisar range inspector general of police to take action into the case registered against AIJASS national president Yashpal Malik. “Our demands remain the same — reservatio­n under Other Backward Castes (OBC) quota, release of Jat youths who were jailed after February 2016 stir and cancellati­on of about 2,100 cases registered against the Jat youths by the Haryana police,” Panghal further added.

AIJASS national president, Yashpal Malik, while talking with HT said, “We have no idea about Sangwan’s group starting a stir from January 27. But, we will start our statewide protest from January 29, and our protest will be peaceful. We will not block rail or road.” Hisar SP Rajendra Kumar Meena said, “Police have registered a case against Yashpal Malik, Krishan Kirmara and Rambhagat Malik under criminal intimidati­on charges and police is investigat­ing into the matter.” “Police are ready to deal with any untoward situation,” SP Rajendra Kumar Meena further added. The Hisar police organised a mock practice drill at the Hisar police line on Wednesday, the Hisar SP said.
