OFF-THE-MARK SRIKANT

It is strange to note that the former captain of the Indian cricket team, Krishnamachari Srikant, has supported the ongoing protests in Tamil Nadu against the ban on Jallikattu by the Supreme Court. Srikant argued that if Jallikattu is cruelty towards animals, the game of boxing is not clean either. Srikant should know that in boxing, human beings play on their own will, whereas in Jallikattu, hapless bulls are incited to perform as per mob’s whims.
