The Shiromani Akali Dal’s contesting the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee elections is a damage control exercise after seeking the support of the Dera Sacha Sauda in the recent Punjab polls. SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar, a Badal loyalist, initiated a probe on the pretext that SAD candidates themselves visited the dera.
