WHERE ARE THE TREES?

-

A lot of publicity was done by the previous Badal government about the renovation of the surroundings of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. And things looked really pretty in pictures. To have a reality check, I was surprised to find same ugly and unmanned traffic in the city. The periphery is certainly clean and looks impressive with monotonous structures and statues that rhyme well with the temple’s domes. All stoned floor and walks are also well maintained. However, in the heavily coldstoned surrounding, there is not a single tree or potted flowery plant to let the place breathe.
