2 booked for raping girl

BATALA : The police booked two persons on the charges of abducting and raping a 23-year-old girl on Sunday.

The victim has alleged that on February 15, her aunt’s relative Mandeep Singh with his friend Dilbag Singh visited her house when she was alone.

She claimed that the two forcibly took her to Bhindari village in Raiya and later to Gujarat where Mandeep raped her repeatedly.

After a few days, the victim said she managed to call her aunt, who along with her relatives rushed to the spot and brought her back to Batala.

On June 20, Mandeep Singh again visited her house, forcing her to marry him. The victim said when she refused, the accused threatened her of dire consequences. A case under sections 363, 376 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. HTC
