Man booked for killing wife

JALANDHAR: A 53-year-old woman was murdered by her husband at Ismailpur village near Mehatpur town on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Surinder Kaur. The accused Brahm Dass (58) is absconding and has been booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Deceased’s son Rampal said, “My parents were not having good relations with each other owing to which my father used to beat my mother.” “On Saturday, when my father came back from his duty, he attacked my mother with a washing bat and stabbed her with knife after which he fled,” he added. SHO Sanbir Singh said,”Dass had attacked his wife earlier also but matter was settled by panchayat.”
