NGOS SHOULD MAKE JUDICIOUS USE OF MONEY

-

The controversy over Teesta Setalvad and use of her organisation’s funds is a reminder that a law exists to check pilferage of money that a Trust collects. NGOs have to register themselves as Trust or a Society. The money raised has to spent in furtherance of defined objectives. Spending such money on alcohol etc. is a strict no-no. The donor of the money has no power to ratify such an illegality. RN Datt, Chandigarh
