7,525 polling stations set up

SHIMLA : As many as 7,525 polling stations have been set up across the state, ahead of polling day. Out of these, 983 stations have been declared vulnerable and 399 critical by the election commission.

Kangra has the highest number (297) of vulnerable polling stations while Kinnaur has the lowest, chief electoral officer Pushpendra Rajput said. In Kangra, there are 1,559 polling stations of which 1,102 are ordinary, 297 are vulnerable and 160 are critical.

Out of the 93 polling stations in Lahaul-Spiti district, 81 polling stations are ordinary and 12 polling stations are vulnerable.

The chief electoral officer also revealed that there are 520 polling stations in Kullu of which 450 are ordinary, 53 are vulnerable and 17 are critical.

In Mandi, there are 1,092 polling stations, out of which 133 are vulnerable and 34 are critical.

Out of the total 525 polling stations in Hamirpur, 61 are vulnerable and five are critical.

In Shimla district, there are 42 are vulnerable stations and 18 critical stations out of the total 1,029 polling stations. Out of 125 polling stations in Kinnaur district, two are vulnerable and 10 have been declared as critical.

The Theog assembly constituen­cy in Shimla district has the highest number of polling stations with 161 stations while Dharmsala assembly constituen­cy of Kangra district has the minimum with 84.
