POLICE SAY ARRESTED GANGSTERS WORK FOR SURENDER ALIAS SUNDRA, WHO IS LOCKED IN JAIL

ROHTAK: Police on Sunday arrested two members of a gang that was allegedly planning to kill rival gangsters in the district jail. The arrested gang members have been identified as Sombir alias Sonu of Rohtak’s Rithal village and Neeraj alias Chautala of Sonepat’s Kaami village.

The police said they confiscated eight country-made pistols and 18 cartridges from them. A stolen motorcycle has also been recovered from them.

The police said arrested gang members worked for Surender alias Sundra, who is presently locked in jail. A gang-war is going on between Surender and Shani Dev alias Kukki, under which at least three people have been shot dead in last one year.

“They were plotting to kill Shani Dev and his accomplices who are presently in police custody. They have been arrested before their plan could be executed,” Rohtak SP Pankaj Nain said, while addressing a press conference here.

Nain said Sombir and Neeraj were booked in several cases of murders, loot and possession of illegal arms in many districts of Haryana. He said the CIA wing of the police got a tip off about the two youths being spotted with heavy arms near Bakheta village on Saturday night, following which a raid was conducted to nab them.
