ABHAY CHAUTALA DEMANDS KHATTAR’S RESIGNATIO­N

CHANDIGARH : Expressing deep concern at the rising incidents of rapes and murders of young girls, leader of the opposition Abhay Singh Chautala, emanded the resignatio­n of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his “consistent failure in checking the rising crime”. Citing the recent spurt in heinous rape and murder cases in the state, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader said that during the past few days, four such cases have been reported from Panipat alone.

In Kurukeshtr­a too, an 11-year-old child has been brutally raped, murdered and her body mutilated. “This has caused panic among the people,” he said.

SURJEWALA SLAMS CM TOO

Former Haryana minister Randeep Singh Surjewala also slammed chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar of failing to control crime against women.

In a statement, he said Khattar holds the charge of home department, which has completely failed in maintainin­g law and order in the state. “In order to hide his repeated failures, there has been a number of changes and transfers of the DGP and senior officers of the state. But the situation has remained the same and the people are not feeling secure.”

HOODA WANTS PRESIDENT’S RULE

Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda demanded President’s rule in the state, citing the gangrape and murder of two Dalit girls .
