PO­LICE FILE CHAL­LAN IN SIRSA DERA FOLLOWER MUR­DER CASE

FARID­KOT: Po­lice here have filed the chal­lan in a lo­cal court in the case of mur­der of Dera Sacha Sauda follower Gur­dev Singh, 35, who was gunned down in 2016 al­legedly by Gur­preet Singh, Ashok Ku­mar and Jaswant Singh at Burj Jawa­har Singh Wala vil­lage, 25 km from the town. The chal­lan claims that the ac­cused con­fessed dur­ing the in­ter­ro­ga­tion that they throw the mur­der weapon in the Ra­jasthan canal af­ter the crime. Af­ter the mur­der, ten­sion pre­vailed in the vil­lage as it had hit the headlines for sec­ond time af­ter the des­e­cra­tion of a ‘bir’ or copy of the Guru Granth Sahib stolen from a gur­d­wara in 2015. The case is been reg­is­tered un­der sec­tion 302 and oth­ers as per the In­dian Pe­nal Code.
