SI SUSPENDED FOR DERELICTION IN DUTY

PANIPAT: Under fire over the repeated rape and murder cases in the state, Haryana director general of police BS Sandhu on Tuesday reached Panipat and suspended sub-inspector Devender Singh for dereliction in duty in the murder and rape case of a 11-year-old girl in Urlana village of the district. The DGP also also shifted at least 6 cops posted in the Urlana police post to the police lines for not taking prompt action in the case despite the family members took up the issue with him. According to the police sources the suspended SI was on PCR van when the girl was kidnapped. Her family members said they informed the police about the missing girl but the police did not take immediate action.

The DGP also asked the local police to submit the challan in the court within 20 days.
