PA­NI­PAT: Un­der fire over the re­peated rape and mur­der cases in the state, Haryana di­rec­tor gen­eral of po­lice BS Sandhu on Tues­day reached Pa­ni­pat and sus­pended sub-in­spec­tor Deven­der Singh for dere­lic­tion in duty in the mur­der and rape case of a 11-year-old girl in Ur­lana vil­lage of the dis­trict. The DGP also also shifted at least 6 cops posted in the Ur­lana po­lice post to the po­lice lines for not tak­ing prompt ac­tion in the case de­spite the fam­ily mem­bers took up the is­sue with him. Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice sources the sus­pended SI was on PCR van when the girl was kid­napped. Her fam­ily mem­bers said they in­formed the po­lice about the miss­ing girl but the po­lice did not take im­me­di­ate ac­tion.

The DGP also asked the lo­cal po­lice to sub­mit the chal­lan in the court within 20 days.
