2 porters in­jured in army ord­nance de­pot ex­plo­sion

SRINAGAR : At least two porters were in­jured on Tues­day in an ex­plo­sion in Anant­nag dis­trict’s Kun­droo, which houses one of the big­gest ord­nance de­pots of the In­dian Army in Jammu and Kash­mir.

Po­lice said that the ex­plo­sion was ac­ci­den­tal and have not iden­ti­fied the ex­act spot of the in­ci­dent. Sta­tion house of­fi­cer of the area Javaid Ah­mad said they were ver­i­fy­ing the in­ci­dent.

“Noth­ing is clear yet,” he fur­ther said.

CIVIL­IAN SUCCUMBS TO BUL­LET IN­JURIES

A civil­ian, who had re­ceived bul­let in­juries dur­ing a protest at an en­counter site in south Kash­mir last month, suc­cumbed to his in­juries on Tues­day, po­lice of­fi­cials fa­mil­iar with the mat­ter said.

Mo­ham­mad Ayub Bhat, a res­i­dent of Shopian dis­trict’s Mulu Chi­tra­gaam area, re­ceived three bul­let wounds when protesters clashed with se­cu­rity forces dur­ing an en­counter at Bhat­maran vil­lage on De­cem­ber 19, an of­fi­cer at Shopian po­lice con­trol room said.
