PROPEL INDIA TO ‘SECOND GREEN REVOLUTION’

It’s well known that the Green Revolution in Punjab contributed to make India self-sufficient in foodgrain production. With financial assistance from the World Bank and NABARD, plans for deep tubewells were framed and implemented. Presently, in the Kandi belt, located in the Shivalik foothills, deep tubewells are playing a major role to achieve the goal of “second green revolution”.
