J&K: House panel formed to review university functioning
JAMMU : Jammu and Kashmir legislative council chairman Haji Anayat Ali on Tuesday announced to form a House Committee to enquire into the alleged lapses in setting up of e-studio and mega seed unit in the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J).
The chairman made the announcement while intervening during the reply by agriculture minister Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura to the question raised by Surinder Chowdhary.
Chowdhary was not satisfied by the minister’s reply and pointed out that only one officer was made the scape-goat while many other employees also responsible for financial bungling roamed scott-free.
These employees must also be held accountable, he added.
He alleged, "There is largescale corruption in the university,” and demanded setting of a House Committee to review the overall functioning of the SKUAST-J. After other members of PDP and BJP voiced their support for his demand, the chairman announced forming of a House panel. HTC
