Maharashtra govt allocates ~4.45 cr for Fadnavis show, two other events
MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has earmarked ~4.45 crore for interactive programmes, including Mee Mukhyamantri Boltoy (chief minister speaking), Devendra Fadnavis’s monthly address launched along the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat. The CM speaks on varied subjects on the show telecast on Doordarshan and private channels.
After the finance department raised strong objections to the unbudgeted expenditure on MMB and other interactive programmes like Dilkhulas and Jai Maharashtra, the state government issued a government resolution (GR) for the allocation.
Of the total allocation of ~4.45 crore, ~2.40 crore have been earmarked for the shooting, script writing, camera set up, editing and other post-production work for Fadnavis’s programme.
While MMB telecast on Doordarshan will cost ~9 lakh a year, the GR is silent on the cost for private channels. It has also earmarked ~1.96 crore per year for advertising these interactive programmes in the newspapers.
