MALIK GETS HIT ON HEAD, SUFFERS CONCUSSION SYMPTOMS

-

MUMBAI: Pakistan cricket team all-rounder Shoaib Malik did not take the field after suffering from symptoms of delayed concussion during his team’s 4th ODI against New Zealand in Hamilton on Tuesday. Malik was struck on the back of his head while taking a run and the PCB said the cricketer showed symptoms of concussion in the dressing room afterwards. “Shoaib was assessed by the match doctor and myself,” Pakistan team physiotherapist VB Singh said. “He did not have any symptoms of a concussion and was able to carry on playing. After getting out, he was reassessed and was showing delayed concussion signs. He is doing well and is resting. As advised by the match doctor and Pakistan team physiotherapist, he will not be taking any further part in the match,” he added.
