24yrold Moga man held for drug peddling

JALANDHAR : The Rural Police have arrested a 24-year-old man of Mastewala village in Moga district for smuggling of drugs after 200gm heroin was found on him on Wednesday. Police said that acting on a tip-off, a ‘naka’ was set up near the Lohian town where the accused was nabbed. Police claim that the accused, Sarwan Singh, a Class-12 pass out, had been deported from the US in March 2017, after having entered their illegally in January 2016 after having spent

₹ 30 lakh. “Sarwan is not a drug addict but he has started selling drugs across the state after coming in contact with drug dealers Bachittar Singh and Gurjant Singh of Moga residents, to manage his expenses. He was preparing for IELTS from an immigratio­n centre in Chandigarh,” said inquiring officer and Lohian SHO Surinder Kumar.
