SAD calls for review of cabinet decisions
CHANDIGARH : Hailing the Punjab and Haryana high court’s decision to set aside the appointment of Suresh Kumar as chief principal secretary of the chief minister, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday said the judgment had put a question mark on all cabinet decisions as the official’s presence in cabinet meetings was illegal.
In a statement here, former minister and SAD spokesman Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said the fact that the official had knowledge of all cabinet decisions and even had a role in influencing them had made these decisions illegal.
The SAD leader said the credibility of the Congress government had hit an all-time low with the pronouncement of this judgment. “The very fact that its appointments are being struck down by the courts speak volumes about its functioning”.
