SURESH ARORA: POLICE CHIEF SURVIVED POWER STRUGGLE

-

Appointed during the Parkash Singh Badal government, the transition to the new regime was far from smooth for Punjab police chief Suresh Arora. But, he is now firmly in the saddle. The CM trusts him and the reason dates back to his stint as the Punjab vigilance chief when he was dealing with cases against Amarinder at the time, the Congress was in the opposition. Arora added a feather to his cap by cracking targeted killings in the state. He has outlived the power struggle within the police too. The much-hyped special task force on drugs formed by the CM, headed by ADGP Harpreet Sidhu, a pick of Suresh Kumar, is now lying almost defunct.
