‘BJP IS PAYING FOR BLUNDERS DONE BY CONGRESS IN J&K’
JAMMU: Equating stonepelting to terrorism, the union minister Dr Jitendra Singh on Tuesday said the BJP government has been paying for the sins committed by the Congress in past 65 years.
Dr Singh launched a scathing attack on former finance minister P Chidambaram, who reportedly said that the PDP should end unholy alliance with the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Let me remind them that the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir is gift of the Congress, which has committed blunders in the past 65 years, right from first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to till date, one after another,” he said.
He said the BJP has been paying for the blunders committed by the Congress, which without any strategy kept experimenting in Kashmir. “This is a cumulative impact which is visible in Kashmir today,” he said.
He said, people in Kashmir need to realise that harming tourists is going to affect them the most. “If attempts are made to harm tourism in Kashmir, I think a common man will not forgive those doing so,” he added.
‘AMNESTY TO STONEPELTERS SUICIDAL MOVE’
The Congress on Tuesday expressed concern over granting amnesty to stone-pelters and rehabilitation of surrendered militants.
Senior vice-president of the Pradesh Congress Committee and former minister Sham Lal Sharma expressed his anguish over the pelting of stones on tourists, which resulted in death of one of the tourists. He further said amnesty granted by BJP-PDP government to stonepelters has not helped in bringing normalcy in the Valley and instead it has aggravated the situation.
