Khattar inks 6 MoUs with UK companies

CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is leading a high-level delegation to the UK, on Saturday signed six memorandum­s of understand­ing (MoUs) with different companies in London.

An official release stated that the MoU with UK India Global Business Ltd (UKIGB) has sought to promote developmen­t of smart-technology infrastruc­ture, especially focused on aerospace and defence companies. It will include investment­s, transfer of technology, support services and establishi­ng UK, European companies, it added.

The chief minister signed an MoU with Pontaq, a UK-India innovation fund, focusing on Fintech, smart cities and emerging technologi­es. Under this MoU, the Haryana government will provide necessary grants, subsidies, tax breaks and infrastruc­ture to the portfolio companies of Pontaq aiming to set up their operation in Haryana.

He also signed an MoU with Xelba Ltd, under which Xelba will provide intellectu­al property, knowledge, hardware and software tools to deploy such project, along with the creation of an innovation centre in Gurugram. Another MoU was inked with Relmatech Ltd, a leading provider of remote ID and tracking systems for unmanned aircraft systems and drones. Under the MoU with GoodBox, the company will offshore a multitude of functions, including both manufactur­ing and services. Khattar also signed an MoU with ZapGo Ltd, developer of a new generation of fast-charging energy storage devices.
