from Qadian, an assistant sub-inspector with Punjab Police, had no inkling of what lay in store for her when she married Harmandeep Singh Sekhon of Los Angeles in March 2014. Baljit alleges that two days after her marriage, she was subjected to dowry demands and harassment when her brother-in-law got married to an only daughter with farm land.
