GNLF quits hill development body positions in 8 months

Barely eight months after they were given the chairmanship of Hill Area Development Committee (HADC) in the north Bengal hills, Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) chairman Mann Ghising announced on Friday that they were giving up the position. Ghising also announced to give up the position of MoS which the Mamata Banerjee government bestowed on him on May 18. Ghising is the son of the legendary hill leader and founder of GNLF, Subash Ghising, who led the first major struggle for Gorkhaland in the Darjeeling hills between 1986 and 1988.
