Argentina fan suspected to have jumped into river

A distraught soccer fan from Kottayam was suspected to have jumped into a river on Friday after Argentina’s humiliating defeat against Croatia. A note left behind by the man – identified as 30-year-old Dinu Alex – said he was unable to bear the pain of his favourite team’s defeat. A family member said he seemed disturbed after the game and went missing a few hours later. “We got suspicious after we recovered a letter from his room. We initially thought it was a prank. Later we found his slippers on the banks of the river,” said a relative.
