Farmers will get better price of their produce, says Khattar
HISAR: Lashing out at the Congress, chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, “Why did the Congress government fail to implement the recommendation of the Swaminathan Commission report in the state during its rule in Haryana?”
The CM was addressing the ‘Kapas Kisan Dhanyawaad Rally' in Barwala town of Hisar on Sunday. Khattar started the rally by saying, “Kisano ko denge pura daam, desh hit me karenge kaam (farmers will get proper rates of their produce and the BJP government will work for the betterment of the country).”
“It is only the BJP government that always worked for the farmers and tried to double their income. On August 12, the state government will hold last dhanyawaad (thanking) rally in Haryana’s Gohana,” Khattar said.
Castigating the INLD, Khattar said though they were raising the issue of Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, it was the BJP government that sanctioned projects worth ₹2,200 crore for the same.
The CM also requested the farmers to complete the registration process under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana.
Khattar further said while his government started providing 24x7 electricity to 2,300 villages under six districts, the previous government had failed to provide even 12 hours of uninterrupted power supply to the farmers.
State BJP chief Subhash Barala said, “The Congress government during its rule in the state only made promises and failed to provide anything to people.”
Finance minister Capt Abhimanyu and agriculture minister OP Dhankar also addressed the gathering. Khattar said the BJP has already provided 5,000 new gas connections in the state and will soon announce 40,000 government jobs for various departments.
CM TAKES TRACTOR TO REACH AT RALLY
Khattar reached the rally spot riding a tractor with Subhash Barala and Capt Abhimanyu sitting besides him. He was welcomed by ministers, who offered him a cotton flower garland.
