Complete shutdown in Kishtwar
A complete shutdown was observed in Kishtwar on Thursday to protest against killing of BJP leader Anil Parihar and his brother in the town by suspected militants last week.
The shutdown call given by Sanatan Dharam Sabha was supported by Vishva Hindu Parishad, Chenab Valley Traders Association, Majlis e Shoora and Beopar Mandal, Kishtwar.
In the wake of bandh, the entire town and its adjoining areas wore a deserted look as shops and business establishment remained shut.
Meanwhile, the curfew imposed in the town since Friday was relaxed for ten hours, starting 7 am in the morning.
A special investigating team has been constituted to probe the killings and three SSP ranked police officers were deputed to normalise the situation in the region.
BJP leaders Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar were fired upon from close range by suspected militants in a dark, narrow lane when they were returning home from their stationery shop in Kishtwar town.

Security forces fired tear gas shells after being stoned by bands of youths during a cordon and search operation in Pulwama district on Thursday, police said. The clashes took place when the Rashtriya Rifles, the special operations group of the police and cordoned off Arihal village after learning about the presence of militants.
