RO­HTAK: A 16-year-old girl was al­legedly gan­graped by four men in Ro­htak on Thurs­day, the po­lice said here.

The girl was ac­com­pa­nied by a man from Bi­har to Til­yar Lake on Thurs­day, when two youths from Ro­htak’s Bo­har vil­lage, af­ter con­sum­ing al­co­hol at the lake, took her away and raped her in bushes.

The po­lice said the two youths called up two more men from their vil­lage who then too raped the vic­tim.

Sources said the Bi­har man who had ac­com­pa­nied the girl to the lake had called the po­lice af­ter she went miss­ing. Af­ter po­lice launched a hunt, they found the girl aban­doned in the bushes at the lake.

Ro­htak su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice (SP) Jashan­deep Singh Rand­hawa formed a spe­cial in­ves­ti­ga­tion team (SIT) un­der DSP Mamta Kharab to in­ves­ti­gate the case.

The DSP said based on in­puts, the team car­ried out raids and man­aged to ar­rest three out of four ac­cused of gan­grape. The three have been iden­ti­fied as Vipin alias Monu, Pravesh alias Sonu and Neeraj alias Neetu — all res­i­dents of Bo­har vil­lage in Ro­htak. The po­lice said their fourth ac­com­plice is on the run and will be ar­rested soon.

The po­lice have also ar­rested the Bi­har man, iden­ti­fied as Ajay Ku­mar, and he is be­ing in­ter­ro­gated.

Mean­while, the po­lice said the vic­tim was handed over to her fam­ily af­ter con­duct­ing her med­i­cal ex­am­i­na­tion and lodg­ing her state­ment in front of a mag­is­trate. She orig­i­nally be­longs to West Ben­gal and had been liv­ing here in the city with her par­ents.
