CHANGING NAMES A NEEDLESS EXERCISE

-

Of late, it has become a fashion to change the names of cities in the garb of nationalism. The logic being given is that invaders had changed the names and they are now being restored. They forget that we cannot erase history. It will be better if our school history books have chapters on the cities before they were invaded. There are so many other things, including dress, language, customs, food habits, which came to India through invaders, but we are comfortable with them. Wasting public money on such things should be avoided.
