Women candidates draw a blank in northeaste­rn state

None of the 15 women candidates of the total 200-plus contenders in Mizoram managed to secure a win in the assembly elections. The state, which has elected just four women to the assembly since its inception in 1987, has the worst record in the country after Nagaland, where no women candidate has ever won the assembly election.
