TRANS CANDIDATE IN MADHYA PRADESH TRAILS BY SMALL MARGIN

A transgende­r woman candidate from Ambah assembly constituen­cy in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district has garnered over 28,000 votes. Neha Kinnar, a 28-year-old independen­t candidate, trailed Congress’s Kamlesh Jatav by 7,733 votes. Neha Kinnar is one of the two transgende­r women candidates contesting the elections. Bala Vaishwara, who contested from Indore-2 as an independen­t, got 704 votes. These elections saw a handful of transgende­r women candidates. In Chhattisga­rh, four stood as independen­ts but none managed to get over 1000 votes.
