TRANS CANDIDATE IN MADHYA PRADESH TRAILS BY SMALL MARGIN
A transgender woman candidate from Ambah assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district has garnered over 28,000 votes. Neha Kinnar, a 28-year-old independent candidate, trailed Congress’s Kamlesh Jatav by 7,733 votes. Neha Kinnar is one of the two transgender women candidates contesting the elections. Bala Vaishwara, who contested from Indore-2 as an independent, got 704 votes. These elections saw a handful of transgender women candidates. In Chhattisgarh, four stood as independents but none managed to get over 1000 votes.
