Leader of Oppn Dudi loses seat in Nokha
: The leader of Opposition in the 14th legislative assembly and one of the probable CM aspirants of the Congress, Rameshwar Lal Dudi, lost in the state assembly elections from Nokha assembly seat of Bikaner district. Dudi lost his seat to Bihari Lal Bishnoi of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) with a margin of 8,663 votes. A prominent Jat leader in the area, Dudi failed to recover the lead which his opponent gained from the first round of counting held at the Government Polytechnic College of Bikaner. Conceding defeat, Dudi said: “This is a public mandate and I accept it with all respect.” Speaking to HT, Bihari Lal Bishnoi said: “The voters of Nokha voted against Dudi’s non-performance and arrogance. I dedicate my victory to the people of Nokha who suffered during his tenure.” According to political experts, Dudi’s move to shift his traditional rival Kanhaiya Lal Jhanvar to Bikaner (East) assembly seat upset the political equations.
