ROHTAK: The Rohtak police have booked the president of Residents’ Doctor Association (RDA) of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Studies (PGIMS) and one of his friends, following a complaint by deputy medical superintendent that he often causes hindrance in services and threatens patients and the staff.

In his complaint, deputy medical superintendent Dr Sandeep accused RDA president Dr Jangveer Greval and his friend Krishan Kumar of entering the trauma centre and operation theatre at odd hours and threatening staff members for working as per their directions. Kumar does not even hold the qualifications of a recognised doctor.

Dr Sandeep said they had received complaints from the staff members against the duo. “After checking the CCTV footage of the accused making videos and threatening the staff, I have submitted the complaint against the two,” he said.

He said it was also alleged in the complaints against the duo that they defamed the PGIMS on social media and referred patients to private hospitals.

The police have now booked the accused under Sections 170 (personating a public servant), 186 (obstructing public servant), 353 (assault), 354C (videography of women), 419 (cheating) and 420 (dishonesty) of IPC. Meanwhile, the RDA president denied all the allegations and maintained that the PGIMS conducted no internal inquiry before approaching the police in the matter. HTC
