Travel agent booked for duping 26-yr-old of ₹6 lakh

JALANDHAR: A travel agent was booked on Tuesday for duping a 26-year-old man of ₹6 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad, said Goraya police. Complainan­t Manjinder Singh, a resident of Moranwali village in Hoshiarpur, told the police that he had paid ₹6 lakh to accused travel agent, Lashkar Ram of Nurmahal in Jalandhar district in September 2017, for sending him to Canada on the work permit. However, even after months, the agent failed to provide him the visa and even refused to return the money, he added. A case has been registered against the accused.
